Trusted and Legacy Contacts

Share Information With Those You Trust

Trusted Contacts.

You can share your information with people you trust. Give your builder access to you home renovations, give your mate access to your travel plans  or give that special someone access to your health and medical history just in case.

A Trusted contact is invited by YOU to view some or all of your information as YOU choose.

YOU can change what the trusted contact can see at any time.

YOU can delete a trusted contact so they no longer have access.

A trusted contact cannot edit your information.

Legacy Contacts.

A Legacy contact is someone you trust to look after your affairs if you become incapable of doing so yourself.

A Legacy Contact can have varying levels of access from read only excluding passwords, through to ability to edit your information. You can change this level of access or your legacy contacts' details at any time.

To Activate access, your nominated Legacy Contact will need to provide evidence to Holdmine administration. This process replicates that of the legal power of attorney (alhough it is not a legal authority). Rest assured, you nominate them first, and they will receive access to your details upon following clear and robust processes when you need them to.

A legacy contact will not have any access to your account prior to this. If you want them to view your account, you can load them as a Trusted Contact.

You control who you give access to at all times.

Edit, add or delete Trusted and Legacy Contacts at any time in ‘My Settings’.

Trusted Contacts

Trusted Contacts are the people you invite to view sections of your content. A simple example might be in the Emergency Preparedness section (under Life Admin) - you might wish to share this with your partner, kids and two closest friends.

Add the details in, then click ‘Add Trusted Contact’. You then add them one by one, and can add them to other sections too if you wish. You can remove or edit their access from ‘My Settings’ on web or in the app at any time.

What Can a Trusted Contact Do or See?

Technically, a trusted contact is someone you want to be able to view your information loaded within Holdmine. You can select your Trusted Contact to have viewing access to as much or as little information as you desire.

If you have been invited to be someone’s Trusted Contact your acceptance will then give you access to their pre-selected private information.

To protect the privacy and security of both parties Holdmine requires two factor authentication. This process results in the Trusted contact having access to a FREE Base Holdmine Account

To view who has trusted you with their content go to My Settings, from here you can see specifically what information you have access to under “Profiles I Can View”.

Legacy Contacts.

The reality is we will all have times where we can’t manage things on our own. Those that will manage it for us, need to know important information, and what we would want for ourselves.

Holdmine enables you to share that easily with them by adding those you trust as a Legacy Contact.

Legacy Contacts can be managed through "My Settings". You nominate a person and they will then be sent an invite. Once a legacy Contact has accepted your request, they will not be given any access to your account, nor see any of your details.

They can only activate accessing your information once they contact Holdmine administration and provide evidence that you’re unable to access your account (typically due to a medical incident), and when that is satisfied, they will be given the level of access you’ve pre-approved.

We’ve answered a few common questions here but please contact us if you would like to know more.

  • Within each content area, add your information then select ‘Add Trusted Contact’. That will take you to a pop up listing all your sections - add the person’s details and you can tick (for yes) or cross (X for no) the content you would like this person to have access to.

  • On the web or in the app, head to ‘My Settings’ where the details are there for you to view and edit.

  • You will see in ‘My Settings’ who’s added you (and you’ve accepted their invite) to be a Trusted or Legacy Contact.
